Yamaha has released Version 7.0 firmware for the RIVAGE PM digital mixing systems. The headline is immersive: Sound xR Image panning is now driven directly from the console surface, with ADM-OSC and d&b Soundscape support alongside it. It is a free download.
Immersive, from the console
The change that matters most is where the control lives. Sound xR Image panning — previously AFC Image — is now operated directly from the RIVAGE PM screen rather than from a separate application. For a mix engineer working an immersive show, that removes a whole layer of indirection during a performance.
V7.0 also adds ADM-OSC support, the standardised way of exchanging object-based audio metadata between systems, and support for d&b audiotechnik Soundscape. Immersive applications connect the console to Yamaha’s DME7 or the NEXO DME10 signal processor.

Control and routing
- External device OSC client control — the console can now drive other systems over OSC.
- DCA Sends on Fader and Mix to Mix routing options.
- Shure SLX-D wireless microphone support over Dante.
Processing
- Ping Pong Drive — a new delay effect plug-in.
- DynamicEQ6 — reworked with history graphs and an improved interface.
